Helping NEATGOODS In Its Mission To Be The Most Sustainable Brand Possible

Hello! My name is Jake Hanssen, I’m an undergraduate at Dartmouth College, and I’ve been involved with NEATGOODS for about five months as a Sustainability Intern.

Before meeting the team at NEATGOODS, I knew that I wanted an opportunity to work at a small business where I could leverage skills that I’ve developed in sustainability, governance, and finance.

While I’ve loved my work on the sustainability team, I’ve also appreciated that NEATGOODS allows interns to work across teams and on a number of different projects. Though my responsibilities as a Sustainability Intern mainly include managing product development and researching sustainable practices in the Consumer Packaged Goods industry, I’ve also had the chance to work on projects in marketing, business strategy, and target audience analysis.

Perhaps the most fulfilling experience that I’ve had with NEATGOODS is representing the company at a nationwide sustainability conference in April. There, I was able to hear from experts and professionals across the world about how they were adapting to a new business environment and contributing to a more sustainable future. Taking those lessons back to NEATGOODS, I have had the opportunity to work with our product design team as we release several new products, ensuring that sustainability remained at the forefront of our concerns.

I’m excited to continue working with the team, and I look forward to contributing to the firm as we expand our line of products!
